Take My Hand

Take my hand and take a walk with me.
See the trees and the grass so green?
Look up at the clear blue sky.

This is what I remember so long ago.
Did you see it too?
When you were a child did you laugh?
Did you play under a clear blue sky?

Walk with me, there is more to see.
Over this hill was a big pond we swam in.
We stripped down and would laugh for hours.
No one knew we were here and we dare no tell.

See that clearing over there?
We rode our horses looking for gold.
We rode so much looking for so many things.
When we woke up our legs and hind side hurt.

See the Dream Catchers in the trees?
See the feathers and rock on the stones?
See the wooden toy?

Come I have one more place to show you.
This is where are friends are.
Look can you see wind surrounding us?
Do you feel different here?

Can you see anything?
Is there something touching you now?
Does it make you feel calm.
Does it take your fear away?

Many souls protect this sacred soil.
They have accepted you.
You will now see them as they move.
But you will never tell anyone.

This is your Totem, your next step.
There will be more so be open when it comes.
Walk with me for our journey begins where theirs ends.

A Spiritual Journey can start from Birth and that is usually when it does. Many do not realize that journey. Sadly they roam the earth without purpose and without family or love they become one of those faceless people that we pass by each day. We call them homeless, less fortunate, sad, and other names when we should be reaching out to them and pulling them back into society where they can have a roof, food, job and a since of purpose.
Many of these are the Native Americans who have been  pushed back into small area where “we” keep them without hope, jobs and in poverty. Very few ever get a High School education and of those that do many of those do not get a college degree. They are the largest minority in this country. And by Largest I mean that there are less Native Americans living on Reservations than there are any other Minorities in this country.
By today’s standards the very land you live on, walk on and go shopping on was stolen from the Native American. I would call the Grand Larceny. What do they get for all that?

Somewhere Tomorrow

The smell of morning.
The Feel of grass on bare feet.
The suns rays on your face.

The laughter in the air.
The love you came home to.
The other world you lived in.

Baseball games at night.
Music on a transistor radio.
Dedicating a song to your girlfriend.

Riding your bicycle all day long.
Laying in the yard at night.
Watching the “lighting bugs.”

Fussing because you had to go to bed.
But you looked out the screen window.
Knowing you would be doing it all again.

Soulful Day

A soul can be a troubling thing.
It can be sad, and the sky is gray.
It can awake, to a spring rain.

The soul can be a beautiful thing.
It can smile at the laughter of a child.
It can cry at the thought of the past.

The soul is an amazing thing.
It is always growing, yet we do not feel it.
It is always moving yet it never leaves.

The soul is a confusing thing.
It can be happy when it is raining.
And sad when the sun is shining.

The soul is a constant thing.
It is always there ever present in the moment.
It never displays emotion until it is ready.

The soul has many descriptions.
But only the one you have is correct.
And the one they have is correct.

At the end of the day the soul does not rest.
It has to put the days thought and experiences in place.
And when you wake it takes on the face of another day.

The soul can be a troubling thing.
It can be happy or it can be sad.
It is beautiful and full of laughter.

The soul can cry and feel pain.
The soul can feel pain and bounce back again.
The soul is our guide in life if we let it.

The soul is a troubling thing.
The soul is an amazing thing.
The soul is a confusing thing.
Yet the soul is a constant thing.

How else would we see our day?

Last Words

Something told me not to come.
Someone gave me a note from the beyond.
I do not understand why.
And when I read it, I began to cry.

The signature was plane to see.
It was a note to set me free.
I never wanted to see this day.
And I never thought I would have nothing to say.

Like the sun setting in the west.
I was sure I gave it my very best.
Somehow I knew how you would feel.
But never guessed you would wait till now.

As they lowered you into the ground.
I became lost again and would never be found.
So why did you pick this way to leave?
When I was waiting to see you and make you believe.

You are gone and I am here.
I am here living in fear.
They day never came for me to say my last words.
The words I am sorry, for what I had done.

So now that you are there and I am here.
Please know I will always think of you dear.
The love in my heart will never part.
And you will still own the largest part.

Goodnight my dear sleep tight.
I will see you sometime after midnight.

Crisis In My Mind

It is beyond my understanding.
I cannot come to terms with it.
And I am not sure that it is mine.

I hurt from deep within.
A place that I cannot hide.
I have it hidden well.

My heart burns deep within.
My mind is running faster each moment.
And I am not sure that they care.

They will never know how I feel.
And this I carry with me forever.
Never able to say it.

I will never understand it.
Sometimes I hope I never will.
A pain that stains the soul.

I hope that someday it will go away.
But I am not sure that it will.
So hiding within myself is all I have for now.

Can you help with this trouble?
Will I ever be the same?
Can I find myself in this world of pain?

I have tried for many years.
And was almost there one day.
But then you left and went very far away.

Now I can not tell you.
For you have gone to Him.
He will keep you safe and never worry again.

If by chance he lets you.
Would you come by one more day?
For love never Ends when it Begins.

Needful Things

It is nothing that you can see.
It is something you can feel.
It touches you as you walk.
It speaks to you as you sit.
It lifts you up as you sleep.
It opens when you come to it.
It understands when you don’t.
It believes when you doubt.
It is brave when you are weak.
It catches you when you fall.
It mends your heart when it is broken.
It is nothing more and nothing less.
It always has what you need.
It never hates but always loves you.
It never strays but is always with you.
It asks for nothing but you give it love.
It gives hope where there is none.

“Love, Hope and Charity.
The greatest of these is Love.”
