Unusual Direction To Go

If the first person goes north.
The second person goes south.
The third person goes east.
The fourth person goes west.
Where does that leave the fifth person?

When you look at a box what do you see?
Oh, four sides, that was easy.
But there is a top and a bottom.
So how many sides does a box have?
If you sit the box on the ground.
One side faces north.
One side faces south.
One side faces east.
One side faces west.
The top faces up.
The bottom faces down.

The perception of this exercise is simple.
How do we look at things.
That fifth person could go up or down.
We did not give you any restrictions.
Nor did we tell you that the person was unable to move.
You just figured that if that others went in all the directions available.
The fifth person did not a choice but to just stand there.

This is how we teach today.
You can only go one way.
And if all those ways are taken.
Then there are no other ways to go.

So now we ask you to “think out of the box.”
Except if we were in the box which side should we get out of so we can think?
Better act fast before the other four get out first!

A Light In The Sky

I sat in a park one day.
I watched a man as he looked up at the sky.
He never moved or said a word.
He only looked up with wide blue eyes.

I returned to my seat the nest day.
There he was as if he had never moved.
Looking up into the clear blue sky.
Never moving or saying a word.

Weeks passed as I watched him.
He stood in that same stop.
Looking up in the same direction.
I looked too but I could never see.

One day he stopped coming.
I thought maybe he was ill.
But after weeks I knew he was gone.
He would never return.

I was restless on the park bench.
I was so use to him being there.
The mystery of his glare in the sky.
His presence always there.

One day I got up.
You could see where he use to stand.
So I stood in his steps and I looked into the sky.
My eyes began to tear up.

When I looked into the sky.
To my amazement in that clear sky.
There was a light.
It shined down on my face.

The warm peaceful feeling.
Warmed my body.
In that light there was a face.
It smiled down on me.

All those years he came here.
Looking for the light.
It filled him with peace.
A hope for a life someday.

Now I come here everyday.
I stand here looking into the sky.
I am filled with joy and peace.
Someday I hope for a better life.

Standing In The Sand

I watched the boat as it disappeared in the setting sun.
I felt the spray of the ocean on my face as evening comes.
I wiggle my toes as I am Standing In The Sand.

I listened to the gulls as they beg for a hand out.
I touched the feathers as they flew by my face.
I laughed out loud while I was Standing In The Sand.

I heard the harbor master as he blew his horn.
I felt the cool breeze from the ocean waves.
I stopped and looked down to see that I was Standing In The Sand.

I closed my eyes and watched you leave.
I saw the tears run down your face.
I opened my eyes and I was still Standing in the Sand.

I am older now than I was yesterday. But younger than tomorrow.
I will not know where I will be but I know that is where I am at.
Yet through all of this I will Be Standing In The Sand.

LOST: One Heart

Lost, One Heart,
If found please return to owner.
You will know him by his,
Sad look,
Tear stain face,
Ragged clothes,
Hopeless cries,
Long hair and beard,
Inability to walk,
Always looks down.

This Heart has been missing for forty years.
It is important that it be returned.
This man who suffers from a broken lost heart.
He is about to die but is unable to without his heart.

Lost: One Heart
If found, please return to owner.

Morning Love

She slips through the room not a noise does she make.
Her feet glide with beauty and grace.
She opens the curtains to let the new day sun in.
Her head leans back soaking in the sun.

Her heart beating ever so gently as she smiles to herself.
Her arms fold in front of her as if cradling a child.
She turns on one foot to take to the stairs as her gown slides up on the floor.
She smiles as she reaches the mirror on the bedroom door.

She turns again to watch him still sleeping with a smile on his face.
Her breathing becomes heavier as she slips back into bed ever so close.
He is a handsome strong man with dark hair.
His eyes as blue as the sky.

She parts her lips and kisses his neck as she closes her eyes.
Her smile becomes bigger as she pulls closer to his body.
She smells the musk of the love they had made.
She lays her arm around him and pulls herself closer.

He moves his body closer so he can feel her shape wrap around him.
He is not yet awake but the feeling of excitement fills his head.
Her breath on his neck is enough for him to know.
He rolls over with his eyes wide open smiling.

He pulls her close and she moans as his feels his breath on her breast.
His kisses travel down her body and she feels the bumps raise on her skin.
He stops and moves up to pull her to him and he kisses her.
And there is one last moan as they become one.
