Sojourn

Walking to close to the water,
Listening to the water crashing against the rocks,
The breeze flowing through long beautiful hair.
The slight smell of salt in the air.

Sun coming up, the rays touching bare skin,
Goose flesh up arms as the cool turns to warm.
Turning toward the sun and walking away,
There seems to be a familiar feeling here.

Suddenly the cry of a crow breaks the silence,
The leaves move in the trees and life begins to move.
The chatter of the morning becomes louder.
The night has slowly faded away to wait its turn.

Wake, O’ Wake the morning and guide this poor soul.
Take the hand and show the way where life is easy,
And the land is peaceful, where answers come.
Wake, O’ Wake sweet peaceful earth.

When you wake make everything the way it was.
Give back the innocence that was lost so long ago,
Heal the those who were scared.

The sun begins to set into the water.
The orange ball looks as if it is dissolving.
The sweet smell of Lilac is in the air.
Sleep comes and night brings darkness to daylight.

O’ sweet love, where were you?
O’ sweet heart, were you broken by time?
O’ sweet life, you have passed us by.
O’ sweet death, you are knocking on the door?

How sweet to have lived, and loved.
Here we will part, Here we will meet again.
Where the water flows free and the peaceful lands will
wrap it’s arms around us.

My Lovers Prayer

To hold me,
Touch me,
Kiss Me,
Hear my voice one more time.

To see me smile,
To hear me laugh,
To feel my gentle touch,
To make love.

To never let go.
To make me understand,
To give me love never dying.
To say “I Love You.”

My Lover’s Prayer,
My Lover, My Live, My Wife.
My Lover’s Prayer.
My Lovers, A Life that would never end.

My Lover’s Prayer,
To go back and start this all over.
My Lover,

Did it really end?
Gone now.
Flowers,
Tears,
Hearts broken,
A cold stone,
A Name of Long Ago,

My Lover’s Prayer,
My Prayer.
My.

Made Of Stone

Here I knell, head in hands.
Tears running down my burning cheeks.
Fearing the future, Hating the past.
Alone homeless my heart broken.

A lifetime we laughed and loved.
A world without hate, we had each other.
Each day we became closer.
Each year we became better lovers.

Today there is only silence.
Today my heart is scattered in the wind.
Today my dreams have been lost forever.
Today time has ceased.

The cold stone standing in the garden.
The words carved are only a name and dates.
They give nothing to the person who lies here.
The joy that she once brought, the love she gave to others.

In one moment she was there smiling.
The next it was gone as if erased from piece of paper.
As if she never existed, if only in a dream.
Yet the pain is real and memory vivid.

Here I knell head in hands.
The tears running down my burning cheeks.
Fearing the future, hating the past.
Alone, homeless, broken, and lost.

Who Am I Now

A glimpse of the past.
A tear of regret.
A longing for yesterday.
A look at today.

A love lost then.
A heart broke.
A time far away.
A look at today.

A walk down the road.
A skip of a rock on the lake.
A sun set her head on my shoulder.
A look at today.

A trip down a one lane road.
A rusty one lane bridge.
A laughter still echoing through hills.
A look at today.

A past and a present.
A present with a past.
A love lost with a heart broken.
And a look at today.

The present cannot change the past.
The present will always have the past.
The heart will always be broken.
And the love will always be lost.

And looking at today,
Will only give you peace.
Because there may be a tomorrow.
And tomorrow the past will be a little
Not part of the look of today.

A past.
A regret.
A yesterday.
A today.

Here I Am

Here I am again.
Just as I promised.
I have come to tell you I am sorry.

Yet, you will not let me speak.
I cried on the long drive here.
I thought it would be best.

Yet, again here I stand crying.
You must think me only a child.
Just as much as the day I broke your heart.

It is nice today.
The smell of the morning dew on the grass.
The slight warmth of the sun as it rises.

I suppose I could stay longer.
You could watch me cry.
Or I could just drive off leaving you again!

I guess I have said enough.
I have wiped the dirt off the stone.
I will leave the rose across your name.

I will cry as I leave.
I will cry all the way back home.
I guess I was never meant to say “Sorry.”

So I will go now.
I will go home.
I will never forget you.
But I will go home.
I will see you next year.

For What I Leave You

I am sorry for what I leave you.
This broken world we live in.
I am sorry for the hate.
The ones who will point at you.

I am sorry for the air.
We just could not admit we were wrong.
I am sorry for the water.
We dump everything into the earth.

I am sorry for the pain.
You will feel one day.
I am sorry for the lost Love.
That I can not be there to give.

I am sorry for the wars.
Man can never stop fighting.
I am sorry for the animals.
Others could not understand.

I am sorry that I left you.
But God took my hand.
I am sorry that you are sad.
But one day you will see me again.

I am sorry that life seems not fair.
Some do not believe.
I am sorry for the terror.
Even when it comes in your sleep.

I am sorry for everything.
We left this place worse than we found it.
I am sorry my dear boys.
That Grandpa could not help.

I am sorry someday you will realize.
The things that I write today.
I am sorry for myself.
Because I waited to late to help.

I Love You Very Much.
Know that this is true.
Your Mother knows this love.
For she has share it too.

Needful Things

It is nothing that you can see.
It is something you can feel.
It touches you as you walk.
It speaks to you as you sit.
It lifts you up as you sleep.
It opens when you come to it.
It understands when you don’t.
It believes when you doubt.
It is brave when you are weak.
It catches you when you fall.
It mends your heart when it is broken.
It is nothing more and nothing less.
It always has what you need.
It never hates but always loves you.
It never strays but is always with you.
It asks for nothing but you give it love.
It gives hope where there is none.

“Love, Hope and Charity.
The greatest of these is Love.”
The Bible
